Abikalp Consulting is a specialised design engineering and project management consultancy. We provide customised solutions for complex infrastructure projects across transportation, energy, mining, and water sectors.
Our practice lies in areas where subsurface complexity, challenging ground conditions and demanding requirements define project success. We offer end-to-end services with focus on advanced structural and geotechnical design.
Our core expertise lies in underground infrastructure covering tunnels, caverns, shafts and deep excavations, where precision engineering and sophisticated analysis are non-negotiable.

The Gaps We Couldn't Ignore
Having spent decades in both execution and consulting, we repeatedly encountered the same challenges. Consultants often lacked visibility into on-site realities, while execution teams were brought in too late to influence critical design decisions. The disconnect between design and implementation led to generic, copy-paste solutions that didn’t always address the actual problem.
What Consultants Should Do
Through our work in waterproofing, strengthening, and injection grouting, we often found ourselves providing the specialised insights and practical solutions that projects needed from the outset. From identifying the true source of a problem to recommending the right materials and methods, we were already bridging the gap informally.

Founder and CEO
Sandeep Kumar Sharma is the Chief Executive Officer of Abikalp Consulting LLP, leading the firm’s strategic vision across engineering, project management, and digital infrastructure solutions. With nearly four decades of experience, including 32 years with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, he has delivered landmark public infrastructure projects spanning hospitals, grade separators, ROBs/RUBs, and urban developments.
A Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and Chartered Engineer, he also led the Indian operations of SISO Software’s India Pvt. Ltd., driving the adoption of cloud-based Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) for major infrastructure projects. His expertise spans project management consultancy, digital transformation, contract administration, claims management, PPP projects, and infrastructure asset management. He is committed to advancing sustainable, technology-driven engineering solutions that contribute to India’s infrastructure growth.
Ajay Gupta
Principal Advisor – Underground Chemical Solutions
Ajay Gupta is a seasoned technocrat and entrepreneur with over four decades of expertise in specialty underground chemicals and advanced construction chemical applications. Since 1982, he has played a pioneering role in introducing innovative chemical technologies for tunnels, underground structures, and critical infrastructure across India.
He founded A.G. Developers Pvt. Ltd. in 1988, which later evolved into A.G. Advance Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., expanding the adoption of advanced waterproofing systems, injection grouting, ground consolidation, passive fire protection, and tunnel lining technologies. His work has supported landmark projects including the Parliament House of India, DMRC Phase-I, Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Reserve Bank of India, and the Karnataka Assembly. His expertise continues to strengthen infrastructure projects through reliable, high-performance underground chemical solutions.
Anant Gupta
Business Development Manager & Founding Member
Anant Gupta is a Founding Member and Business Development Manager at Abikalp Consulting LLP, responsible for business development, strategic partnerships, and organisational growth. He works closely with government agencies, consultants, and industry leaders to expand the firm’s engineering and advisory services across infrastructure sectors.
With a background in mechanical engineering and management, Anant began his career in data analytics before joining A.G. Advance Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., where he helped diversify the business into underground infrastructure solutions, injection grouting chemicals, FRP products, and road repair technologies. His expertise spans business development, proposal management, cost estimation, market research, branding, and digital initiatives. He is passionate about building sustainable infrastructure solutions that combine engineering excellence with long-term environmental responsibility.
